Komen Ride for the Cure  http://www.komenmidmichigan.org/get-involved/komen-activities/

August 6th, 2011

Thanks to all those who attended!  We had great support on all areas.

Email from the event:

from Todd McNeilly,

I had no idea what your group would do or how it would help.  That said,  you exceeded my wildest expectations.  I kept thinking to myself on Sunday, I hope we can get the HAM guys again!  You were a great asset to the team and I am glad to hear it was a worthwhile event for you as well.

Thank you so much!

Hi Jeff,
Thank you again for scrambling to get people together for this ride. Everyone really appreciated the radio support. If I hadn't found Dave on a hail mary call for help and then you via him, we'd have been out of luck. So thanks to the both of you and your teams. I'm really glad that it was an event that you not only had to work, but enjoyed as well. There's still more coming in, but your team can know that they helped us put together an event that raised over $140,000. The final numbers will be in on Sept 7, so we expect it to grow a bit like it did last year. Most of that money stays to help local women get screening, treatment, and educational support services.
Thank you again.... I'm finally having a chance to relax  and evaluate everything after Saturday cleanup and then another event Sunday/Monday. While there are always some hiccups on the back side, the responses from riders and volunteers were overwhelmingly positive. Phew....
I certainly hope to see you and the HAMs for another great event next year,

Just a brief note to tell you all what a great time we had on Saturday. I've been getting notes from our radio volunteers saying how much they enjoyed the event, what great people they met and what a warm feeling they got knowing they were helping a worthy cause.

I, for one, am holding open the first weekend of August 2012, am I'm sure many of my fellow hams are doing the same.

Thanks so much for your leadership in the Ride for the Cure event.  You took a late request and just made it happen.  Many thanks to your whole Ann Arbor Arrow club for rallying to support this event.  They have a great community service focus.
